My name is Cecile Churet and this blog is about inclusive business, emerging markets and sustainability investing – 3 areas I have had the privilege to explore through my work at the WBCSD, at HSBC more recently and now at SAM in Zurich.
Having worked at the crossroads between sustainability, business and finance for the last 7 years, I am fascinated by the leverage that the capital markets can have on the development & uptake of market-based solutions to global challenges – when the right incentives are built into the system.
With that in mind, I am also involved in the work of the Network for Sutainable Financial Markets, whose goal is to investigate the systemic failures of the financial markets and propose pragmatic policy reforms and recommendations to make financial markets more sustainable (www.sustainablefinancialmarkets).
I look forward to sharing ideas on how we can make the financial markets work better, and deliver on their basic role of allocating capital efficiently in an increasingly resource-constrained world.
